Hell Valley Peitou Taipei
Hell Valley is quite appropriately named. It smells of sulphur, it’s steamy and hot, even in winter, and you can see it bubbling away. Taiwan is in an active earthquake zone and boasts of many lovely hot springs. Peitou is one town where you can try them, either free, by the river, or in hot spring hotels where the water is specially piped in. 10/02
